About

Welcome to Living New Age blog, a web site which has one purpose – introduce tools that can help you to make you life more enjoyable and improve quality of your life.

When I was a child, I was fascinated by astrology, tarot and all kinds of fortune telling techniques. They were like a magnet to me, I was very keen to learn as much as possible about them. Our family always openly discussed all kinds of esoteric topics, these things were never a taboo, although those ideas were not to be talked about during communism era in the Czech Republic. My grand-grandfather (from my mum’s side of family) was well known for practicing astrology but he was as well interested in other approaches to spirituality, which are nowadays referred to as New Age

Initially, I was interested in fortune telling aspects only. As a teenager I always wanted to know answers to questions such as:

  • Will I ever find the right girl that I will marry and live with her for the rest of my life?
  • Will I have any children? If yes, how many?
  • Will I have a good and prosperous career?
  • Will I be rich and have lots of money?
  • Will I live a long and prosperous life?

I believed back then that destiny was given and that these things were fixed and I so wanted to find out answers to the above questions.

When I was nineteen and studied university in Prague, I signed up to an astrology and alternative medicine course (outside of university of course). On the course I met some very interesting people and that is when my whole mindset started to change. I got an easy access to people that were very good at many New Age techniques, mainly reading cards, tarot, astrology and alternative medicine.

I realized one thing back then – anytime I was about to ask a questions about future, I got stressed. What if the answer was going to be the one that I didn’t want? What if the answer was going to be “No, you will not pass your exam”?. Luckily, the people I knew were very wise with lots of experience and  taught me that this is not how I should ask my questions.

After all, fortune tellers are human beings as anyone else and they also make mistakes, like people in any other professions. Only people with big fat ego say they never make mistakes and they make them even more than anybody else. I believe that every thought has a huge power, it is very important how and what people think because any thoughts can easily get materialized. Bad suggestions of fortune teller can have catastrophic consequences if the person accepts in his or her mind that the fortune is given and that he or she has no power to change it.

So I learned to ask questions properly. Instead of asking “Am I going to pass the exam?”, I started to ask “What can I do to make sure I pass the exam?”, which was a completely different question. Reading cards helped me to understand if there was anything more that I could do to ensure I pass the exam and it was no longer connected with the stress about what the answer was going to be. If I asked the first question instead, I don’t thing it would have been of any help, because:

  • If the answer was going to be YES, I would have probably studied much less hence increasing chances of not passing the exam
  • If the answer was going to be NO, it is possible that I would have given up straight away, believing that there was nothing I could do to pass the exam.
  • It is much more fun not knowing what the outcome will be!

I strongly believe now that any fortune telling technique will only tell you the most likely result given current circumstances. It is in everyones power to change it, everything depends just on person’s attitude and whether they are willing to do anything about their future. Everyone is responsible for their health, career, relationships and finances. I learned to use tarot and astrology as tools to improve quality of my life, rather than as fortune telling tools for predicting future. Astrology and tarot are excellent tools for getting to know yourself, getting to know your weaknesses and strengths. It can help you to understand other people’s behavior and get a better insight into events around you. I wanted to share information about this and all the techniques with a wider audience, and that is when I got an idea to set up this site. There are many sites on the web about tarot, astrology, numerology, meditation, feng-shui, alternative medicine and other New Age techniques, but I wanted to create one that would introduce all these tools as a way to improve your life, help you make decisions right now and not to be worried about your future believing that is is set and cannot be changed.

If are interested in this, please read on, this blog is for you!

One thing I would like to note here as well, as you may have guessed already – I am not a native English speaker. I am Czech and I decided to write this blog in English to be able to talk to as wide audience as possible. If you find a grammar mistake in my English, feel free to drop me a note and I will fix it. I am planning to launch a Czech version of the blog as well, which will have exactly the same content but in Czech language. This is because I realize that there is still many people in the Czech Republic who don’t speak English and I would like the blog to be available to them as well.
